So, pack up your skis and snow boots, and get ready for fun on the slopes by booking some of these affordable ski vacations in your state or region .

Colorado ski vacations are quite popular during the fall and winter months, since the state is known for its extensive winter recreational activities. If you need a little assistance choosing which ski resort to go to, you can check out Ski Colorado, a network of lodges and resorts that will give you all the information about family ski vacations in Colorado that you'll need. You can stay in Steamboat, which has six peaks for skiers of all levels to practice their skills, or Aspen, which is a popular resort that has plenty of winter activities in a luxurious resort atmosphere.

If you live in the New England area and want to know more about ski vacations in this region of the country, you may want to check out the vacations Vermont has to offer. Kilington, a famous skiing area in Vermont, has snow for six months, which gives you plenty of time to plan your vacation, and Stowe, the highest peak in the area, is often a mark of accomplishment for experienced skiers. You may also want to check out Jay Peak in Vermont if you are new to skiing; smaller hills like Bolton Valley are available there.

In Massachusetts, you'll find plenty of ski vacations in your price range as well. One of the most popular is Wachusett, which means 'the great hill' in the Algoquin Indian language. There are over 200 instructors at this location to teach the snowboarding and skiing school. There are even plenty of classes and lessons available for children, so even if your kids are as young as four, they can still learn about skiing and snowboarding, and hit the slopes with the rest of the family. If you live in or near the Boston area, you can even go to the resort for a day to give the family a mini-vacation, since the resort is only a train ride from Boston.

family ski vacations in these areas are some of the most popular, but you can check with your travel agent or with other ski instructors to see which resorts may be closer to you, and which ski schools work especially with beginners or small children. Skiing is a great way to get exercise and to see the beauty of winter, so why not get your family involved today? Do you go to a place where everyone can participate in sporting or hiking activities? Is a beach destination ideal? Is everyone excited about trying a new amusement park this year? Here are some vacation ideas that you can share with your family that may help you to narrow down your choices.

One of the first things you can do when you're planning family vacation spots for the whole family is to be age appropriate. You may have gone to Disney World for the last five years, but if your kids are teenagers now, they may want a change--even though the theme park has many attractions for their age group now. So, if Orlando, Florida is your yearly vacation destination, try going to other places like the many shopping centers the city has to offer, or Busch Gardens for a different 'theme park' experience. If you're going to be traveling with parents or grandparents, cruise ships that leave from Florida and go to places like Aruba or the Bahamas may be ideal. Each member of the family will have something to do on the ship, and there is live entertainment and casinos on most ships if the older members of your family enjoy these activities.

Keep in mind that your vacation ideas do not have to involve you spending a lot of money or traveling outside of the country. If you have a theme for your vacation, this will help you to save money and can make your travel plans more efficient. For instance, if you want to take your children on a vacation for spring break and want to make sure that the trip is educational, you can go to U.S. cities like Boston or Philadelphia to let your kids see copies of the Constitution and artifacts from the colonial period. If you're learning about the different ecosystems that are present in the world and the animals that live in them, you can travel to Texas to visit great attractions like the San Antonio Zoo, as well as other desert areas in the state that are home to lots of cacti and coyote. If you live close to these areas, you can drive instead of having to book a plane ticket, which will save you a considerable amount of money that you can use for shopping and restaurants once you get to your destination.

For international vacation ideas, try visiting places like Aruba, which has beautiful beaches and live music for you to enjoy. You can even take scuba diving lessons while you're there, or go on a boat ride with the whole family. Or, you can visit Belgium, where you can take the Brussels sightseeing tour, or visit the various plazas in the area for shopping where you'll find street vendors selling everything from lemon ice cream to beautiful jewelry.
Today, the area is covered with skiers – but the crowds are rather light.

The area became a skier’s paradise in 1957. It was developed by Robert Barrett, who made his fortune as a uranium miner. He basically started developing the resort because he was denied restroom privileges at the ski area in Alta – because he was not a guest.

Now owned by a different family, the resort features 1200 acres of 63 runs for beginners, intermediate skiers, and experts. There are eight lifts, including seven chair lifts and one surface lift. The top elevation at Solitude Mountain is 10036 feet, with a vertical drop of 2048 feet.

There are five lodging options for guests, and activities and events take place all throughout the year for the whole family vacation. The resort looks like a Tom Kincaide painting, and one can’t help but wonder if this is where some of his inspiration came from!

Ski vacations in Utah have been chosen as the best family vacation spot. Now as winter approaches people are looking to the slopes for that ultimate outdoor adventure.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7467733023819935556.post-43445673390913348872008-01-30T19:24:00.002-05:002009-02-15T19:45:08.598-05:00Family Vacation Travel TipsVacationing with a family, especially small children, can become stressful, but there are many things you can do to keep everyone in a good mood and enjoy your time together. Family vacation travel tips can be very helpful, but should be taken with a grain of salt since every family and each family member has different moods, tendencies, and things that upset them.

Although flying to your family vacation destination may be a little more expensive, it may be a preferable alternative to spending several hours crammed in a vehicle together especially if you are going to Kitchener Ontario. Flying will also give you more time to enjoy your destination rather than spending a day or two on the road.

One vacation option that many families take advantage of is cruises. In addition to providing entertainment for adults, teens and younger children, cruises allow you to kick back between various ports of call that offer many different activities and options. One popular cruise destination is Costa Rica, particularly in Caribbean cruises. Costa Rica travel tips are not difficult to find and provide advice and recommendations for many different family activities. You can visit Dunn's River Falls, which has some of the most photogenic waterfalls in the world, or marvel at the abundant butterfly population. There are more butterflies per square mile in Costa Rica than anywhere else in the world. In fact, many travelers say that it is difficult to take a photo in Costa Rica without getting a few butterflies in the picture. Because Costa Rica caters to tourists, just about the only Costa Rica travel tips you'll need will concern what activities you want to partake in while you're there.

Another cruise destination that has become popular in recent years is Alaska. Although Alaska may seem like an odd vacation spot, it gives many families the opportunity to escape the heat of the summer, although it is commonly around seventy degrees in Alaska during the summer. Like most cruises, the staff will take care of everything for you, so the need for Alaska travel tips is limited if you visit Alaska via a cruise. If you visit Alaska during the right time of year, your family can see migrating whales or be present for 24-hour sunlight. Although many people have trouble adjusting to the lack of nightfall, others enjoy it very much. One Alaska travel tip, as well as a travel tip that pertains to any cruise, is you will want to be aware of any food allergies, especially sea food since it is served heavily on cruise ships.

Surprisingly, you can book a cruise for little more per day than a hotel room, but food is included in most cruises. If you shop around, you may be able to find a cruise that is very affordable and makes a lot of sense for your family. For many people, cruises are just about the only way they can see several exotic destinations in one outing. Whether you decide a cruise is the best thing for your family or not, you should still plan on bringing a few things to keep your children occupied like toys so all family members can get along and have a relaxing family vacation.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7467733023819935556.post-8785036670848943712008-01-30T19:24:00.000-05:002008-01-30T20:03:58.798-05:00Family Vacation International Travel TipsSeeing the United States can be fairly easy, but when traveling out of the country having some international travel tips can be the difference between soaking up the sun and sitting in interrogation rooms. Although there are certain things to be aware of in any country you visit, airline travel tips are also very important in our post 9/11 world.

The best place to find airline travel tips is on the airline's website. The website will inform you of the airline's policies on beverages and other items that may be prohibited from taking aboard planes. Another airline travel tip that everyone should know about is that baggage handlers are not gentle with anyone's luggage, regardless if it is packed full of precious, fragile souvenirs or not. If you have anything you want to remain intact, it needs to be included in your carry-on luggage. Also, to speed the process getting through security checks, you will have to empty your pockets and make sure you don't have any metal on you, so pay attention to your wardrobe before you set off to the airport.

While there may still be an exception, most countries require you to have a passport before entering. You should have some photocopies of your passport with you, and also leave copies with friends and family members at home in case you get separated from your belongings. This is one international travel tip that should be part of everyone's traveling plan. If you are in a foreign country with no ID, an airline ticket won't do you much good, and neither will travelers checks. Although it is not frequent, people do occasionally get separated from their belongings while traveling. Having a backup plan will ensure that your international vacation doesn't turn into a nightmare.

If you know where you want to go, one of the best sources for international travel tips is the Lonely Planet books. These books give an objective viewpoint of attractions in various countries and regions around the world. These books tell you about fun activities and gorgeous scenery, but they do not hype up locations. They simply let you know what to expect, and in some cases, will even include hotel and restaurant owners' names. For example, if you needed some travel tips for Italy, you could look in the Lonely Planet book for Italy and get an overview of each town. It would tell you what the attractions are, a brief history, as well as places to stay and eat. In addition to travel tips for Italy, this book could help you set a very accurate budget for your vacation.

No matter what destination has peaked your interest, gathering some general international travel tips, as well as information about your destination, will make your vacation much more enjoyable.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7467733023819935556.post-57800048364418035712008-01-07T20:43:00.000-05:002008-01-07T21:05:54.691-05:00Canada Family Vacation SpotA Canada family vacation spot that is going to be rocking in 2008 is Quebec City. Family vacations are like a family reunion. This is the only time we get to devote strictly to the family and its members.

As we all gathered this past holiday, we spent a lot of time talking about our past family vacations. We had not laughed that hard in a long time. We always seem to pull out the family photos when we all get together and look at past family vacation spots that we spent as a family.

Some of our best family vacation times are when we went camping in a tepee. We had a sixteen pole tepee and five kids plus friends camp in the most primitive way. It would never fail that we would get at least one day of rain. It is remarkable how what seemed as the worst time, at the time brings back the best family vacation memories.

As we have all grown older now and our children have children have of their own, our family vacations are either taken in a tin tepee (motor home) or rental cottages. It is more like a family reunion now than it was before.

At the holidays we were trying to decide what and were we were going to chose our family vacation spot this year. We try to pick a location that has entertainment for the whole family. We have a Yogi Bear Campground near our house and they have cabins for rent and a spot for motor homes. Their is things to do for young and old alike. It is also near Lake Michigan and we can charter a boat for fishing and cruising if we like. We have our family vacation spot picked, now all we need is a week when we can all get together at the same time.

Family vacations are more than a week or two out of a year. Taking a family vacation in Michigan is something I have done all my life.

I have been on family vacations for the past 50 some years and most of them in Michigan. There is so much to see and enjoy here it could take a lifetime to view and enjoy it all.

As soon as the new year would roll in my parents would brain storm for a family vacation idea we could all enjoy. Of course we traveled Michigan for that is where we lived and we did not have a lot of money for fancy vacations.

Most of our family vacations involved camping in a tent and hardly any campgrounds had electricity or plumbing. Yes even the state parks had out houses. We did have a row boat with a motor so we would usually camp on a lake. Very primitive back then.

Now most family vacations are a lot less primitive. Thankfully! Now we either vacation where someone come in and changes your linen every day and there is room service or we use the RV.

This is the time of year to start with our family vacation idea. We still spend a lot of time traveling Michigan but we also go to other areas as well. We take a family vacation at least once a year to Chicago.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7467733023819935556.post-13438576357661937942007-12-27T21:27:00.000-05:002008-01-05T17:00:13.039-05:00Welcome to Your Family Vacation SpotView family vacation destinations from around the world.
